Several
NRG components are manufactured from UHMW-PE, a high density linear
polyethylene with an extremely high molecular weight, a minimum of
4.5 million.
The unique molecular composition of UHMW gives it properties which
make it the best material available for sprockets as well as wear
shoes and strips. UHMW has the highest abrasion resistance and lowest
coefficient of friction of any material in its class.

Tests
were conducted with a variety of materials for a period of seven hours
at a speed of 1,750 rpm. Carbon steel was assigned an abrasion rating
of 100, with other materials tested assigned values in relation to
carbon. The lower the number, the better the material resists wear.
The chart clearly indicates the superior abrasion resistance of parts
made with UHMW.
NRG UHMW is not just superior to other materials in abrasion resistance.
Please refer to the chart comparing various physical properties of
materials commonly used in water and wastewater treatment applications.
NRG UHMW is fully recyclable, and is available in both Virgin and
Reprocessed, in a variety of colors. |
